Bristol City sign QPR striker Patrick Agyemang on loan
Agyemang has three caps for Ghana
Bristol City have signed Queens Park Rangers striker Patrick Agyemang on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old passed a medical at Ashton Gate on Monday and could make his City debut in Tuesday's Championship clash with Cardiff.
"He's got great pace and he'll come in and give us that presence that [Dele] Adebola did a couple of Januarys ago," boss Gary Johnson told BBC Points West.
"He's a constant threat and that's what we need to be as a team."
The Ghana international began his career with Wimbledon in 1998 before joining Gillingham in 2004.
He signed for Preston a year later before moving to QPR in 2008 where he has scored 14 goals in 61 appearances.
"My situation at QPR was up and down. One minute I'm playing and then not playing," said Agyemang.
"I thought it was time for a fresh start and it's good to know the manager [Gary Johnson] wants me to come and play.
Agyemang targets Maynard partnership
"I know they've got a lot of good players in the team and I just want to add to it.
"I've got more experience than the other strikers and I bring that to the team as well."
Agyemang joins a Bristol City strike force that includes Alvaro Saborio, David Clarkson, John Akinde as well as regulars Danny Haynes and Nicky Maynard.
"I trained with Nicky today and seen that his movement is quite good," he said.
"When I was on the ball I found him and vice-versa. It seems like we've got a good understanding."
Agyemang a 'constant threat' - Johnson
Agyemang is Bristol City's second signing in seven days as they look to push for promotion.
Last week they secured Barnsley winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Gary Johnson's side lie in 10th spot in the Championship, four points below Blackpool who are currently in the final play-off spot.
