Anderson, Carl (1905-1991)
    

American physicist who discovered the positron Eric Weisstein's World of Physics in 1932 while studying cosmic rays. Eric Weisstein's World of Physics He also discovered the muon, Eric Weisstein's World of Physics which was thought to be the particle theoretically predicted by Yukawa in 1935. The particle predicted by Yukawa was subsequently discovered by Powell. Anderson shared the 1936 Nobel prize in physics with Hess.
