Take along a drawknife and shave it,

scrape off the bark of the alder tree,

measure off as much as will be enough for the dyeing tank.

We are going to dye with alder

wels cuˈsatlina qi genis mʼekwaˈtl qi.
you're going to dry it and we'll pound it (into powder).
