Grab a multitool for images
GraphicConverter does much more than convert.
After 25 years of development, the longtime Mac favourite GraphicConverter can open pretty much any image format ever created (nearly 200!) and export to over 80. But with its snappy image browser and wide range of tools for editing, optimising, scanning and cataloguing images, it does much more than its name suggests.
What we love: Saving hours of time with batch processing. Working on a media campaign? Set up an action to create multiple versions of an image – each with different dimensions, filters, and formats – then apply it to an entire folder of photos. The latest version of GraphicConverter handles vector-based shapes, annotations and callouts, and it can automatically select and mask objects with the help of AI.

Quick tip: GraphicConverter’s Metadata Juggler offers powerful tools for cleaning up EXIF and IPTC metadata – without affecting image quality. Strip GPS data with a click or assign dates based on a filename like product-01-2023-07-16.JPG. To help you maintain consistent workflows, the app lets you save Metadata Juggler criteria for use later.

Meet the creator: Developer Thorsten Lemke created GraphicConverter in 1992 to convert his digital-photo collection from Atari to Macintosh formats. At one time, the app came preinstalled on all Mac computers.
