What’s next for DJI to release?

With the release of the Mavic 4 Pro behind us—sorry, US pilots, I feel your pain too—we’re already wondering: what’s next for DJI? Well, an FCC filing and one of our favorite leakers could show us the way.

DJI Osmo Nano

Hitting the FCC database over the long weekend was the DJI Osmo Nano. Obviously, with a name like “Nano,” this is going to be a small camera, but the FCC filing doesn’t give us much to go on. The action camera game has begun to heat back up, with Insta360 and GoPro killing it on new releases, with DJI hanging in there with the Osmo lineup. A smaller camera could make for an interesting addition to the family.

DJI Osmo 360

Another camera that hit the FCC database but we’re still waiting on is the Osmo 360. One area that DJI hasn’t ventured into is the 360 camera space currently dominated by Insta360.

So while an FCC filing doesn’t always mean a release is near, I would take a guess that a new addition to the Osmo lineup outside of the Pocket could be in the cards for 2025. It would at least be fun to see something new and fresh from the company.

DJI Mic 3

This one, along with the others on this list, comes from Igor Bogdanov, who just provided us with a list of future DJI products the company is set to release. When? No word on that. But “the pieces are set.”

The DJI Mic 2 came out last year, in January 2024 to be specific, and was a massive step up in wireless audio performance. With 32-bit float audio recording, extended battery life, and overall better audio quality, you may ask what’s there to improve?

Well, with any consumer product, there is always something to touch up and upgrade after a year and a half or more. One feature I bet many creators would enjoy is the built-in noise reduction filter that came with the DJI Mic Mini, but for some reason, not with the more expensive Mic 2s.

DJI Avata 3

So you’re saying DJI is going to take advantage of the Avata 2 being one of the most fun drones to fly from DJI in recent years and release a third version? Shocker.

It does seem like DJI is moving into more annual product upgrades each year on its more popular products. While this is great for those looking to get the most out of their drones, for many, you’ll now have to figure out what you want each year if you can’t afford to keep up with the latest upgrades.

DJI Neo 2

Speaking of another potentially yearly update, Igor’s suggestion of a Neo 2 isn’t a shock given its first version has basically disappeared from the DJI website since the Flip reached markets. There are only two reasons why a drone could be getting an upgrade so shortly after it hit the market: either it sucked and needed upgrades, or there is a need to stay relevant.

What could come to a second generation flying camera (it’s still a drone just a different market)? Your guess is as good as mine.

DJI M400

And rounding out our list, we’re ending with something for the enterprise group. We’ve been sitting on the M300-series drone design for DJI’s large-scale enterprise drone family. Currently, we’re with the M350, which did see plenty of upgrades and has an absolutely powerhouse of a payload system.

However, changes come and go, and it’s about time the high-end Matrice family gets the true upgrade it deserves.

Have a wish list of features you want for future versions of these products? Send it to us in the comments section below, and maybe we’ll round up the best ones and share them with you.
