Samsung Beri Sinyal One UI 8 Bakal Dipercepat
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra resmi dirilis di acara Galaxy Unpacked di SAP Center, San Jose, California, Amerika Serikat pada Selasa pagi (22/1/2025) atau Rabu (23/1/2024) dini hari WIB. Model ini lahir bersama dengan dua saudaranya, Samsung S25 reguler dan Samsung S25 Plus. Samsung S25 Ultra jadi model tertinggi dari ketiganya.
KOMPAS.com - Perusahaan teknologi asal Korea Selatan, Samsung, memastikan akan segera merilis antarmuka (user interface/UI) terbarunya, One UI 8, dalam waktu dekat. Antarmuka terbaru ini kabarnya akan dijalankan di atas sistem operasi (OS) berbasis Android 16.
Android 16 sendiri dijadwalkan Google untuk meluncur pada Juni 2025. Rencana peluncuran ini disebut langsung mendapat antusias besar dari pengguna ponsel Android, termasuk pemilik perangkat Samsung.
Pasalnya, setiap kali Google merilis pembaruan sistem operasi Android versi terbaru, Samsung biasanya turut menghadirkan update antarmuka One UI baru berbasis versi tersebut. Nah, kali ini One UI 8 digadang-gadang bakal menjadi versi baru yang dibangun di atas Android 16.

Menanggapi hal ini, pihak Samsung pun memberikan "bocoran" mengenai kehadiran antarmuka terbaru mereka. Adapun bocoran ini diungkap dalam video berjudul “The Android Show: I/O Edition | Device Showcase | Samsung”, yang diunggah di kanal YouTube resmi Android.
Dalam video tersebut, tepatnya pada menit ke 2.30, Minseok Kang selaku VP dan Head of Smartphone Planning di Samsung menyebut bahwa One UI 8 akan dirilis pada "musim panas ini".
Jika merujuk ke wilayah global, "musim panas" yang dimaksud oleh Minseok Kang berada dalam rentang waktu antara bulan Juni hingga September 2025. Dengan kata lain, pembaruan antarmuka One UI 8 Samsung yang disebut Minseok, akan hadir tidak lama lagi.
One UI 8 dipercepat
Samsung belum mengumumkan tanggal pasti, tapi bocoran ini mengindikasikan bahwa peluncuran One UI 8 akan dipercepat.
Peluncuran pembaruan One UI 8 juga diyakini akan berjalan lebih "lancar dan cepat" dibanding saat merilis One UI 7. Sebab, berdasarkan laporan yang beredar, One UI 8 disebut tidak akan membawa banyak perubahan besar.
Pembaruan ini kabarnya lebih berfokus pada peningkatan performa serta optimalisasi sistem. Berbeda dengan One UI 7 yang saat itu membawa banyak perubahan sehingga berdampak pada keterlambatan update ke perangkat penggunanya.
Sehingga, saat peluncuran One UI 7, Samsung dikabarkan menuai banyak keluhan dari para penggunanya. Selain itu, pengguna juga mengeluh bahwa proses update antarmuka mereka mengandung bug dan dirasa cukup mengganggu performa ponsel mereka.
Oleh karena itu, melalui One UI 8, Samsung disebut ingin memperbaiki citra tersebut dengan menghadirkan pembaruan yang lebih cepat, namun tetap fokus pada stabilitas dan penyempurnaan sistem antarmuka mereka.
Ilustrasi pembaruan antarmuka One UI 8 Samsung yang dipastikan akan meluncur sekitar bulan Juni hingga September 2025. One UI 8 disebut akan dijalankan di atas sistem operasi (OS) Android 16 yang dijadwalkan meluncur pada Juni 2025. Selain itu, sejumlah laporan juga menyebut bahwa Samsung berencana untuk menggulirkan versi beta dari One UI 8 mereka pada akhir Mei 2025. Langkah ini disebut sebagai upaya Samsung untuk menghindari masalah yang sama saat peluncuran One UI 7 sebelumnya.

Adapun jika prediksi jadwal ini benar dan dilakukan sesuai rencana, maka versi stabilnya kemungkinan besar akan resmi meluncur antara bulan Juli atau Agustus mendatang.
Seri Galaxy S dan Z akan diprioritaskan
Dihimpun KompasTekno dari laman Gizchina, Selasa (20/5/2025), Samsung sendiri belum merinci daftar perangkat mana yang akan menerima pembaruan antarmuka One UI 8-nya terlebih dahulu.
Namun, jika merujuk pada pola distribusi update sebelumnya, seri flagship seperti Galaxy S dan Galaxy Z diyakini akan menjadi prioritas utama Samsung.
Setelah itu, pembaruan One UI 8 kemungkinkan akan menyusul ke seri menengah seperti Galaxy A. Perlu dicatat, distribusi ini juga biasanya dilakukan bertahap sesuai dengan jenis perangkat dan wilayah.
