Imprisonment
[edit]Shakespeare has King Henry VI banishing Eleanor to the Isle of Man. Some older sources such as J. Doran in Notes and queries, 1861, page 218 state that she was imprisoned and died in Peel Castle on the Isle of Man.
However G. L. Harris in the 21st century Oxford Dictionary of National Biography writes "Eleanor was imprisoned initially at Chester, then in 1443 moved to Kenilworth, in July 1446 to the Isle of Man, and finally in March 1449 to Beaumaris, where she died on 7 July 1452 and was buried, presumably in the parish church." Kent or Surrey
[edit]In the book that was listed as a source for Thomas Cobham -- it says that Sterborough is in Kent. "COBHAM BARONS COBHAM OF STERBOROUGH CO KENT" -- Cobham of Sterborough, Co, Kent. Take a look at this as well -- Topography of Surrey states "The Manor of Sterborough alias Prinkham The mansion or castle of Sterborough is in the parish of Lingfield but the land belonging to the manor is partly in the parish of Home and partly in Edon bridge Westerham and Cowden in Kent." -- Sterborough Castle from 'Greater Medieval Houses of England' says it's on the border of Surrey and Kent. Just an FYI -- Lady Meg (talk) 06:42, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
