Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit the second fastest century in IPL T-20 cricket league. He hit the 100 runs in just 35 balls. Fastest IPL 100 was hit by Chris Gayle in 30 balls against Pune Warriors in 2013. Timjuris02 (talk) 18:39, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Age Dispute

[edit]

If his birthday is as in the text "Suryavanshi had mentioned that his 14th birthday was on 27 September 2023", he is two years old, tops.

Two Date of Births

[edit]

One change occured here and I found it today. As per Hindustan Times, Times of India and other sources, it shows his official birth date as 27/03/2011 but now it's showing "27 th March 2011 or 27th September 2009". This happened because in one interview in 2023, he said that he would turn 14 on 27th September. But that was a local interview. I request to fix this correctly and to set his official date of birth which is 27th March 2011 Skyeonset (talk) 13:37, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Since the statement was made by vaibhav himself it should be taken seriously and hence both DOBs are mentioned to avoid any confusion.
Statement about the bone test given by his father is mentioned in the article too.
So it shouldn't be a problem. Okbhaiya (talk) 09:20, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is a problem since this is an egregious WP:BLP issue. Our role is not to speculate on unverified claims but to report only what reliable sources state as fact. If reliable sources clearly give his date of birth as 27 March 2011, then that is the date we report and nothing more. Any doubts (or disputes) should be presented explicitly as doubts, not implied as fact. Yuvaank (talk) 22:03, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 3 June 2025

[edit]

Vaibhav SuryavanshiVaibhav Sooryavanshi – After constant page moving twice in a year, I figured it would be best to sort out this dispute with an RM (Even if I stay neutral) just to sort this dispute out. Vaibhav uses the Sooryavanshi spelling on his own Instagram: [1]. Whilst most sources including ESPNCricInfo use Suryavanshi. I am totally neutral and only opened this discussion to sort out the dispute to settle it out. Servite et contribuere (talk) 10:24, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apart from his Instagram. His jersey in IPL and U-19 India both have Sooryavanshi written on it. [1][2] These evidence are enough to state that his names spells as "Sooryavanshi". Suryavanshi"" on ESPNCricinfol is just another of his name being misspelled like most of the news websites have done.
Officially his name spells as Vaibhav "Sooryavanshi" as written on his Indian U19 jersey, his IPL jersey and also on his Instagram handle. Enough source provided. Okbhaiya (talk) 14:10, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
