Does not work with ubuntu 23.10

I installed from the ubuntu repo:
$ sudo apt install libfprint-2-tod1

downloaded libfprint-2-tod1-goodix_0.0.4-0ubuntu1somerville1_amd64.deb
and installed with dpkg -i

$ fprintd-verify 
Impossible to verify: GDBus.Error:net.reactivated.Fprint.Error.NoSuchDevice: No devices available
