NASA's Publication Spinoff

1996 Edition Now Available

For more than 30 years, the secondary use of NASA technology and its impact on the economy and global competition has been facilitated through NASA's Commercial Development and Technology Transfer Program. This mechanism is employed to transfer new technologies developed in the course of NASA activities to the public and private sector. Such wide distribution and outreach activities result in private industry's application of NASA generated technology. Frequently this leads to the development of commercially available products and services (spinoffs). Spinoff captures between 40 and 50 of these success stories annually. A copy of this publication is available upon request.

Your Commercial Spinoff Success

Please contact us by use of the contributor form with details about your story or any questions you may have concerning the Spinoff Project.

NASA Spinoff Database

The Spinoff Database is a field searchable WAIS database which contains a representative sampling of spinoff products and processes that resulted from technology utilization, or secondary applications since 1976.
