I remember when my friend and I first heard about this show. We waited for
months for it to come on the air and it when it finally did, it was
instantly our favorite show. It was about a single father named Doug Brody
who was abducted by aliens and then fell in love and married an alien named
Cookie. He brought Cookie back down to Earth with him and together they
raised Doug's son Adam and his daughter Heather. However, Cookie already had
three kids of her own [yes, they were also aliens] and so together there
were five kids for Doug and Cookie to take care of [three of which were
aliens]. The show only lasted eight episodes and it's a shame too since the
show really had a good chance of becoming one of those weird cult favorites.
I mean the show was great. It had an incredibly clever and interesting
storyline, great dialogue and humor, pretty good acting [for this type of
show anyways], and it also a heck of a lot better than the other shows that
were being shown on ABC at the time. Hopefully, sometime soon ABC will
realize what a big mistake it was to take this off the air and they will put
this back on or at least put it in reruns on some other network. It was
really a unique show with a bizarre, yet daring sense of humor and decent
special effects. If ABC gave this show more time, I think that it would have
really lifted off. I mean Fox did it with FAMILY GUY and look how that
turned out.
