Excellent psychological thriller, 3 March 2001

Movies don't come as gripping as The Vanishing. Not only is it a creepy, haunting thriller about a search for a lost loved one, but it is also a disturbing character study of a psychopath. The acting is superb, the screenplay brilliant, and the ending; well, they don't come as shocking as this one. The only complaint is that sometimes it's hard to tell what scenes are flashbacks. Apart from that, it's an absolutely brilliant thriller. 9/10.
