Fixstars GigaAccel 180

Cell on a Card
The Fixstars GigaAccel 180 is built upon the innovative multi-core IBM PowerXCell 8i processor, a new generation processor based on the Cell Broadband Engine (Cell/B.E.) architecture. The GigaAccel 180 incorporates the IBM PowerXCell 8i microprocessor which offers 5x the double-precision performance of the previous Cell/B.E. processor. With 4GB of DDR2 RAM, this supercomputer on a PCIe form-factor card will increase performance of Cell optimized 32- and 64-bit applications.

Ease of Deployment
  • Transition from a Sony PLAYSTATION3 to the GigaAccel 180 and dramatically improve your performance without rework of code.

  • Host up to 4 GA-180s in a single tower or rackmount host.

  • Assemble a cluster of GA-180 workstations for rapid, scalable growth of a distributed system using Y-HPC, TORQUE, and Cluster Resources Moab.

  • Incorporate the GA-180 into your embedded solution for an open or blackbox turn-key solution.
