| Two-seat vehicles: Microcar: Two persons side-by-side, four wheel, with cargo or child-passenger area to carry up to three small children. Can accommodate two persons from 5' to 6'4". Can be ridden by a single rider. Has compound gearing, allowing a single rider to propel it up a steep hill. Can accept optional power assist. Large monolithic frame does not compact. Duo: Two persons side-by-side, four wheel, with cargo area or child-passenger area to carry 1 or 2 small children. The Duo requires two persons (with some exceptions) to be ridden safely. Lighter, more compactable.
Single seat vehicles: ATC: One person on-and-off-road cycle. Minimalist frame, non-compound gearing, no cargo frame, lighter weight.
