The PH Domain Foundation is the social outreach arm of the local PH Domain Registry (dotPH). It is a SEC-registered Internet-based non-stock, non-profit organization seeking to provide free unlimited email service to people in remote rural areas towards the upliftment of the quality of life in these communities.

It was set up in August 1999 by a small group of IT professionals from the E-Mail Company (EMC) and spearheaded by the Philippines' Domain Registrar , Jose Emmanuel Disini.

Equipped with the technical capabilities and technology to connect remote areas with both email and Internet access, and conscious of the endless possibilities of the Internet in changing peoples lives, the Ph Domain Foundation seeks to popularize the use of Internet email in the Philippine countrysides as a tool for empowerment.

It partners with local rural area-based groups - whether an NGO, PO, civic organization, religious , educational or media institution with enough interest, willingness and the organizational capability for implementation of its core *free email connectivity project*.

The PH Domain Foundation successfully launched its first pilot project in Gumaca, Quezon, last January 25, 2001 in partnership with the Taada para sa Tao (TAPAT) headed by Rep. Wigberto Taada. (see homepage for the activities).
