Dateline NBC, premiered for NBC News in primetime in 1992. Since then, this multi-night franchise has included frequent specials, investigative reporting and uses its news anchors as more than just news-readers. With Stone Phillips and Ann Curry anchoring, the broadcast also features Tom Brokaw, Katie Couric and Maria Shriver, each of whom contributes to and anchors some of the editions. The flexibility of 'Dateline NBC' allows for both multipart features and full hour documentaries devoted to single subjects and reports. Dateline has delivered in-depth coverage of breaking news, including the funeral of Princess Diana, the national manhunt for Andrew Cunanan, the crash of TWA Flight 800, the Unabomber investigation, the Oklahoma City bombing, the O.J. Simpson trials, the Los Angeles earthquake and fires, and the latest floods, hurricanes and worldwide disasters.
