Large-Scale Photovoltaic Power Plants

In 2010 large scale PV plants with cumulative power more that 3 GWp were connected to the grid. Market leader was Germany with more than 1 GWp new power capacity installed closely followed by Italy and the Czech Republic. Data about installed power capacity in 2010 is available in PV Power Plants 2011 Industry Guide, published by Solarpraxis. More detailed data for past years is available in pvresources Annual Review 2008 Extended Edition. World's largest photovoltaic power plants are presented in the table. Only PV power plants which forms a unique photovoltaic power plant as a whole, are considered. The main source of information included on this web site are press releases and various other sources. The lists should be as accurate as possible. Howewer the mistakes and missentries can not be excluded. Lists are given "as is" without warranty of any kind.

World's largest PV power plants are available here, largest PV roofs and BIPV power plants can be found here. List of PV power plants put into service till end of 2010 is available on sunenergysite.eu. Please inform me if some plants are not included or if the entries should be modified. If some power plants are missing and should be included in this table, or if some entries in the table should be modified, please send information to:

PV Power Plants Industry Guide 2012 published by Solarpraxis is the first industry guide to focus exclusively on utility-scale solar power plants, and targets system integrators, distributors, project developers, top planners and investors. Photovoltaics is becoming increasingly inexpensive. In contrast, the prices for electricity from conventional power plants are climbing. This is making the solar farm market segment progressively more lucrative for financially strong investors.

PV Power Plants Industry Guide 2011 published by Solarpraxis is the first industry guide to focus exclusively on utility-scale solar power plants, and targets system integrators, distributors, project developers, top planners and investors. Besides corporate portraits, it includes an overview of market conditions and developments in technology, and depicts crucial issues related to planning and financing.

Interesting new markets are for example Slovakia, Slovenia and United Kingdom. Solartech are one of the UK's leading Solar Energy Companies who specialise in the installation and supply of Solar Panels to domestic and commercial customers. Other areas of expertise include the renewable heat incentive, heat pumps and biomass boilers.
