About Search on your Apple TV (4th generation)

On your Apple TV, you can search for movies and TV shows across multiple apps simultaneously. Apple Music members can also search for songs and albums.

Search for movies and TV shows in multiple apps at once

Use Siri (in select countries) or the Search app to look for content in multiple apps* at once. With Siri, you can search by title, genre, actor, and more, and even refine your search as you go.

When you use Siri or the Search app to find a movie or a TV show, Apple TV checks the following content providers, with more coming soon:

About Siri and the Search app

  • You can use Siri or the Search app to find apps in the App Store.
  • If you have an Apple Music membership, you can use the Search app or Siri to search Apple Music.
  • The Search app and Siri don't search Home Shared libraries.
  • To search for YouTube content, use Siri and include the word "YouTube" in your search. The Search app doesn't search YouTube.

*To look for content in one app at a time, just open the app and use the app's own search function.
