The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) identified the University of the Cordilleras as a delivering higher education institution (DHEI) of graduate scholarships under the commission’s faculty and staff development program in the K-12 transition period.

NDRRMC, through its President, DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana announced the Top Three Institutions nationally, namely: 1st Place: UC; 2nd Place: the University of San Carlos; 3rd Place: Capiz State University on December 11, 2017 at the Crown Plaza Manila Galleria.
Cordillera in Korea
The University of the Cordilleras' Saeng ya Kasay Cultural Ensemble performed 10 different traditional Cordilleran dances accompanied by indigenous musical instruments to promote the region’s rich culture at the International Students Fair of Chonbuk National University in Jeonju, South Korea
