Brackley won for the first time in six National League games with a 1-0 victory at Braintree.

The away side came close to taking the lead when Tyler Lyttle had a crack from outside the box but he was denied by the woodwork.

Brackley were given the chance to break the deadlock from the penalty spot and Shane Byrne tucked away from 12 yards with 14 minutes to play.

Braintree went in search of an equaliser and John Akinde had the best of the hosts' chances but he fired wide as they slipped to defeat.
