Family Guy pop-up of the Drunken Clam coming to Boston

The summer pop-up will include specialty cocktails, photo-ops, and possibly an evil monkey sighting.

Drunken Clam
A Family Guy-inspired pop-up bar is coming to Boston.

Bostonians can eat and imbibe like they’re in the world of their favorite New England cartoon family this summer with a pop-up of the Drunken Clam, the watering hole featured in Family Guy

The Drunken Clam pop-up.

The Drunken Clam will take over West End Johnnies in the West End beginning July 18 and for a limited time, though a press release on Thursday didn’t say when exactly the pop-up would end. Fans of the long-running animated show from Seth MacFarlane will recognize the Drunken Clam’s neon bar sign and red bar booths, but the pop-up goes beyond Peter Griffin’s favorite bar.

Past pop-ups have let attendees make their anchoring debut at the desk of the Quahog 5 News, or feel like a member of the eccentric Griffin family in a set that looks like their living room. Behind a closed door, you may find yourself face to face with a notorious monkey.

The Family Guy-inspired pop-up will also include food and drink specials that make reference to the show.

Master Chef finalist and Chopped champion Becky Brown is in charge of the “Eat My Junk” food menu, which will include a Good Old Fashioned Value Burger and Greased Up Deaf Fries.

The cocktail list includes:

  • The No No Noooo (reposado tequila, watermelon, lemon, agave, and tajin)
  • Shut Up Meg (infused gin, honey, lemon, and thyme)
  • The Evil Monkey (tequila, cassis berry, jalapeño tincture, lime, and Topo Chico)
  • Cool Whip (vodka, espresso blend, Mr. Black, and whipped cream)
  • Pewterschmidt Industries (bonded bourbon, peach liqueur, lime, basil, and Topo Chico)

On top of the several photo-ops and food and drink specials, the pop-up will also host Family Guy trivia and karaoke nights. There will also be merch for sale.

Bucket Listers, an app that helps people find experiences and events in select major cities, is hosting the pop-up in Boston after its success in Los Angeles and Houston.

Tickets go on sale June 11. An $18 ticket gets guests entry and a welcome cocktail or mocktail. For details leading up to the event and ticket sales, follow @familyguyexperience and @boston.bucketlist. Future attendees can also join a waitlist.
