The core idea behind DP can be understood by considering a journey through a mountain range. Imagine you need to reach the highest peak but can only do so by traversing through specific paths. Each path leads to smaller peaks, and from those, other paths diverge. Traditional problem-solving methods would explore every possible path individually, even retracing steps that have already been explored. Dynamic Programming, on the other hand, stores the height reached at each smaller peak the first time it is reached, thus eliminating the need to re-explore known paths. This not only saves time but also ensures an optimal solution by systematically building on sub-solutions.

Memoization(Top-Down Approach): This technique involves writing the algorithm in a recursive manner but storing the result of each computation in a data structure (like an array or a map). If the same computation is needed again later, the stored result is used directly, thus saving computation time.
