Graceful Gastropod

G is for Gastropod, a large and diverse group of molluscs that includes snails and slugs.

 

For Smile on Saturday theme 'Begins with G'.

 

Knowing my interest in snails, a neighbour mentioned that he had quite a few snails on his apple tree (perhaps there were no hostas in his garden), so I went over to see, and found three different species! The tree was quite small, so I managed to position a snail on a leaf close to the ground without a leafy background.

 

For Macro Mondays theme 'Spiral'. The image spans less than 5 cm.

 

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
