Stranger 93/100 'Widad' [Explore 24/9/25]

Posed 'stranger' portrait taken for my 100 Strangers project in Glasgow, Scotland.

I first captured a candid shot of Widad which lead to a brief conversation and her being thrilled when I asked if she wanted a portrait. Widad was working at the time and could spare only a minute or two. Once she removed her employer branded clothing, I took a couple of shots in situ and kept the encounter as brief as possible so as not to cause any trouble for her while at work.
Widad told me that she once thought about becoming a model and her pose in front of the camera was natural and fluid without any need to prompt or direct her. Captured with natural light and processed with a light frequency separation edit in Photoshop, reducing the appearance of 'tiredness' under the eyes at her request.
I emailed the photos to Widad but didn't hear back although she was pleased with the results that I showed her from my camera on the day. My thanks to Widad for sparing a few moments for a portrait and my gratitude to you all for your favourites, comments and support for my photography.
** Actually bumped into Widad in Glasgow again today, 24th April. She stopped me to apologies for not replying to me email and told me she was thrilled with the photographs. That makes me a happy photographer today.
