Hurricane Melissa, one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the Caribbean, has devastated eastern Cuba with torrential rains, massive flooding and winds up to 295 km/h. Homes have collapsed, communities are isolated, and hundreds of thousands have lost access to safe water and electricity. Meanwhile, an ongoing arbovirus outbreak worsens health risks.
