Researchers have developed a skin-permeable insulin that could offer an alternative to injections for insulin management. The skin is a formidable barrier that’s really good at keeping the outside out. The key advance in this research is a polymer that can slip through the different layers, delivering insulin into the body. Researchers have detected a massive blast of super-heated plasma being fired from a distant star. These blasts come from our Sun all the time but (despite decades of searching) there’s been little evidence of one happening anywhere else in the Milky Way… until now. Coronal mass ejections have the power to strip a planet of its atmosphere, so knowing more about them could help researchers identity potentially habitable planets in our galaxy.
