In September 2015 a team from the UK with arborist Syd Howells, climbing expert Vicky Tough and photographer Andrew Walmsley climbed this tree and measured it to be 72.9 metres. They spent two days as well as a night up in the tree. For the story see: http://www.tentsile.com/blogs/news/53682948-karri-karri-knight-a-night-of-wonder
The Karri Knight is now the tallest reliably measured tree in Europe. There are reports of still taller Caucasian Firs (Abies nordmanniana) from the Russian Western Caucasus, but there are reliable measurements only up to 60.5 m (see https://www.monumentaltrees.com/en/rus/adygey/maykopskiy/19771_kavkazskiyzapovednik/37187/).
