Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the Joshimath-Malari two-lane state highway and Punaar bridge in Chamoli district on 24 December 2019.
The road will help improve traffic movement towards India-Tibet border and benefit villages.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed the 62.66 km long two-way lane state highway at a cost of Rs 265 crore. The Punaar bridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs 4.94 crore. The projects have been completed before time.
Apart from this, the CM also announced construction of a parking lot in the municipal limits of Joshimath, a stadium at Ravigram and a road on Lanshi-Tapon route.
