1. ViewPowerOverview
1.1. Introduction
ViewPower is UPS management software which is perfect for home users and
enterprises. It can monitor and manage from one to multiple UPSs in a networked
environment,eitherLANorINTERNET. Itcannotonlypreventdatalossfrompower
outageandsafelyshutdownsystems,butalsostoreprogrammingdataandscheduled
shutdownUPSs.

1.2. Structure
ViewPowerincludesViewPowerservice,GUI(userinterface)andViewPowericon.
ViewPowerserviceisthecoreofViewPowersoftware.Itsasystemprogramrunningin
thebackend.ItwillcommunicatewithUPS,recordevent,notifyuserswithevents,and
executecommandaccordingtousersrequest.
GUI is operated in Browser and communicated with backend program. Users can
monitorUPSsforrealtimestatus,informationandmodifyUPSsettingparametersvia
GUI.
ViewPowericonismanagingtoolforViewPowersoftware.WhenViewPowerisactivated,
thereisanorangeplugiconlocatedintaskbar.Italsowilldisplaypopupdialogfor
currentUPSstatus.
NOTE1:TrayicononlyexistsunderWindowsOS.

Please choose Start >> All Programs >> ViewPower >> Uninstall. Then follow the
onscreeninstructiontouninstallthesoftware.

3. ServiceTrayApplication
TheInstallerwillleaveashortcuticononyourdesktop.Simplyclicktheshortcut.Then
itwillstartthe software anddisplayanorangeplugiconlocatedintaskbar.Tolaunchthe
GUI,doubleclicktheplugiconorchooseOpenMonitorbyclickingrightbuttonofthe
mouse.Refertobelowdiagram.

3.1. StartMonitor
Thissoftwarewillbeautomaticallyactivatedwheninstallingitasserviceapplication.At
thistime,userscanremotemonitortheUPSthroughwebbrowsereventhoughusers
donotlogininoperationsystem.
Ifserviceapplicationcannotberegisteredsuccessfullywhenstartingupservicetray
service, it will automatically activate monitoring application. If its failed or stopped
manually,simplyclickStartMonitortoactivateit.
StartMonitorwillcheckifmonitoringapplicationisregisteredasserviceapplication.
If its successfully, this software will be activated from service mode. If not, this
softwarewillbeactivatedasmonitoringmode.Userscanidentifytheapplicationmode
fromtrayiconasbelow:

Its to configure response actions for UPS events. Software provides six response
actionsaftereventsoccur.

2.Computeralarm:Computerwillbeeptoremindusersaftereventsoccur.This
functionisonlyavailableforWindowsOS.
3.Warningdialog(local):Itwillpopupamessagedialogaroundthesoftware

4.Broadcast:ItwillsendtheeventmessagetoallPCswithsoftwareinstalledin
LANnetwork.
