Conclusions

- The document discusses abortion and provides opinions both for and against it. It concludes that abortion is an inhumane practice that destroys thousands of lives each day and emotionally damages thousands of women. It recommends focusing on effective prevention strategies like education and access to contraception to reduce teen and unintended pregnancies, while continuing to support families in need. A summary of findings shows that around 6 in 10 adults agree abortion should be legally available to all who want it, though older age groups are less supportive.

CONCLUSIONS:

-sunday, may 2, 2010

In my own opinion abortion is an inhumane practice, from the statistics
provided over 4,000 childrens lives are destroyed in the name of choice
every day, and at the same time over 4,000 women are emotionally
damaged each day. If a woman has been raped, is abortion the only answer?
If it is, she should think about her own life and the after effects that it will
have on her.
-its wrong and as much as people want to say"a women should have the
write to make choices for her body" why do so many women have multiple
abortions? stop having sex dont be irresponsible.they most likely know the
consequences of being sexually active so if they "accidentally"get pregnant
and want an abortion that is just plain dumb.imagine all the people that have
lost their unborn children and all those who cant have babies having to bare
with people that can, and those ungrateful people just throw them away. 8
years ago
-My conclusion would be simple. Only when abortion in itself becomes
recognized as the crime that it is, can people say with a clear conscience
that it is "freedom of choice." Ask yourselves. Freedom of choice for who? 8

RECOMMENDATION
-Focus on Effective Prevention Strategies
Adolescents need teen pregnancy prevention strategies and programs that
are based on the best, most effective practices as determined by evaluation
and research. Effective prevention strategies include:
*Accurate, balanced, and realistic sexuality education
*Youth development
*Confidential, low-cost access to contraceptive services
-Continue Support for Needy Families
While the federal government should increase its funding to prevent teenage
pregnancy, the increased investments should not be achieved by cutting
expenditures to support families in need. Because poverty and lack of hope

for a productive future are the causes as much as the consequences of

adolescent pregnancy, supporting families in need can also be a significant
part of the effort to reduce teenage pregnancy
and too-early childbearing
FINDINGS:
Summary of Findings
Legal availability of abortion for all who want it
-Six in ten (59%) adults agree that abortion should be made legally available
to all who want it. Just over a quarter (27%) disagree and 14% are either
neutral or have no opinion.
-Social classes ABC1 are more likely to agree that abortion should be made
legally available for all who want it than those from social classes C2DE (62%
and 56% respectively).
-As previously found, respondents aged 55+ are less likely to agree with the
legal provision of abortion for all who want it than younger groups. (54% of
men aged 55+ agree with the legal provision of abortion compared with 63%
of men aged 15-34 and 62% aged 35-54, and 49% of women aged 55+
agree, compared with 62% of women aged 15-34 and 64% aged 35-54).
