TEMS installation manual for Samsung devices

Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505, GT-I9506), S5 (SM-G900I, SM-G900F, SM-G900FQ), Note4 (SM-N910F), Note4 4G+
(SM-N910G)
Part I. Flashing the firmware

1. Check android version in phone menu Settings->About device

S4 (GT-I9505, GT-I9506) supported android versions: 4.2.2, 4.3, 4.4.2

S5 (SM-G900F, SM-G900FQ) supported android versions: 4.4.2, 5.0

Note4 (SM-N910F, SM-N910G) supported android versions: 4.4.4, 5.0, 5.1

2. Before flashing, we need to perform a Factory reset. Power OFF the phone, and enter the Recovery mode
(press and hold VolUp+Home+Power). THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
3. Install Samsung USB Drivers (if you still don't). Run SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe
4. Start Odin3 v3.07.exe, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked. Check Bootloader and select
bl_xxxx.tar.md5 file, check PDA and select rom_xxxx.tar.md5 file (according to your model). Wait a few
minutes for the file hash verification to finish

IMPORTANT: Flashing the Bootloader will update it to KNOX. You can try to skip it but in case of any problems
flash Bootloader+ROM (recommended).

5. Enter the Downoad mode: Power OFF the phone, reinsert battery, press and hold VolDown+Home+Power.
Confirm your choice with VolUp key and plug USB cable, then press Start button in ODIN to start flashing

When flashing finished, the phone should automatically jump into Recovery mode for rooting and in a minute
power on.
NOTE: For rooting S4+ GT-I9506 need to use CWM recovery + rooting zip

Part II. Installing TEMS features

1. Insert SIM card and power ON the phone and plug USB cable
2. Go Settings->More->Developer options menu to enable USB debugging. To enable Developer options you
need to go About device menu, and tap a few time on Build number item.

Enable USB debugging and wait for a RSA key fingerprint confirmation, check Always allow from this computer
and press OK:
3. Enable Unknown sources in Settings->Security
4. Disable Google Verify Apps in Settings->Security (for android 4.4+ devices)
5. Disable KNOX security warnings. Open installed apps and run SuperSU. It will prompt to disable KNOX:

6. Start tmloader_samsung_xxx.exe, place an activation script in scripts folder and press Start in tmloader and
follow on-screen instructions. The device will restart after tmloader task finish.

Part III. Setting up the phone

1. Check USB settings. Open Phone app and dial code: *#0808#. Set options according to picture
2. Check Diag settings. Open Phone app and dial code: *#9090#. Set options according to picture (for S4 only,
S5, Note4 has no settings there)
In order to connect mobile to TEMS Investigation:

1. Plug USB cable


2. Enable USB tethering, Settings->More settings->Tethering and portable hotspot->USB tethering

Part IV. TEMS Pocket 14.x, 15.x licenses activation

1. Enable internet connection (WiFi or Mobile network)


2. Open TEMS License application on the phone
3. Press Update licenses

NOTE: Restarting the TEMS License application required, in case licenses still not in the list
