KINGDOM OF SITHTHARS
Keezhkkaai Nelli or Keezhaa Nelli - Phyllanthus Niruri
Siththars gave us many kaya kalpas in order to keep our body free from ageing, hunger and disease which, ultimately make a person to live longer and younger. Generally, it is two types viz, medicinal kaya kalpa and yoga kaya kalpa. In that series, we have already discussed lots and lots of medicinal kaya kalpa, which is available in this link. Likewise, let us see another easy kaya kalpa in this post. Karuvoorar, in his Vaathakaaviyam book, gave us the information concerning keezhkkai nelli kalpa in his poem as follows: =_< ~"~O _" <e poosamudan kuruvaarang koodum naalil

Then mix the grinded root powder with equal amount of sugar, ghee and honey and make them as balls to the size of pea aubergine. One should start in taking this herbal pill on the Thursday combined with pushya nakshatra day. On continuous intake of this pill for 6 months, 18 types of kushtam (leprosy) which is otherwise called as mahaa kustam, will get cured. Further, Siththar Karuvoorar says, on continuous intake for 1 year, a person become like 16 year old young with greater knowledge and can live for 200 years with good strength. During these days, one should take only restricted food viz, milk, rice and ghee are allowed and other foods are prohibited from intake. Simple kaya kalpa. Isnt it? Original - www.siththarkal.com Translated by Lalithambika Rajasekaran Our human body is an assortment of five basic elements. For the stability and working of our human body, air and food are highly crucial. Our inner organs and glands segregate the nutrients and minerals from the inhaled food and give it to body appropriately and finally wastes get excreted out. However, each glands and organs gets instigated by the taste of our inhaled food. Each and every taste initiates certain organs to function accordingly. With this wide knowledge, our ancestors include arusuvai (six types of taste) food in their daily life. Unfortunately, we denied all these food habit practice in this modernized environment. It is really an inappropriate and sad thing where we failed to respect our ancestors food practice which composed of starting from sweet and ending with thaambulam* which is composed of bitterness and thuvarpu. In this series, this post is about bitterness taste (ignored nowadays) kalpa named neem kalpa. Siththar Agathiyar describes the pride and importance of neem tree as follows;
varisaiyaai samaathiseythaa renthai yayyaa
vaaraathu vishangalellaanj seppi naarae.

vaalipamun nooruvaya thiruppaanraanae. - (Karuvoorar) One should take and eat the very watery and healthy neem leaf on the morning of Pushya or Mrigashirsha nakshatra of Tamil month Kaarthigai. The leaf should be in inhaled in every morning continuously for 27 days which makes the person unaffected even from snake poison. Rather, if a snake bites the person, it will die off. In this regard, if one inhaled neem leaf for a month makes him free from leprosy related 18 diseases and even devils and demons will not come nearer to him. Karuvoorar say, on inhaling this neem leaf powder of verukadi* amount along with honey for 6 months continuously, one should get free from white hair and cataract and can also lives long youthful life. And no more food restrictions are said for this kaya kapa. Let us see you with awful topic in upcoming post. *Thaamboolam Betel leaves and areca nuts *Verukadi The quantity (of sand) taken by three fingers, including thumb, of the Wild cat. Veruku denotes the Wild cat Original www.siththarkal.com Translated by Lalithambika Rajasekaran I have already discussed various kalpa in my previous posts. However, many people request to share about simple form of kalpa. Let us see very simple pepper kalpa which is taken from the book Therayyar Kaapiyam in todays post.

First day start with 1 pepper, second day 2 peppers, third day 3 pepper, similarly increase the amount till reaches 7 peppers on seventh day in empty mouth and grind it well and swallow it completely. Then decrease the amount on eighth day as 6 peppers and consecutively decrease the number of pepper till it reaches 1 pepper on thirteenth day and again increase and decrease for each consecutive seven days. Continue this intake process for 48 days. On continuous intake of this kalpa for 48 days, it will make the body strength and luminous. Moreover it also increase the life time. How to eat this pepper? There lies the secret of this kalpa. We can eat at morning or evening and one should not eat anything 3 hrs before this pepper intake. And one should avoid the liquor, non-vegetarian food and copulation. Easy kalpa process right!! Another thing is, one can get sweet voice by eating pepper powder mixed with honey. With a pinch of pepper powder add necessary normal sugar (brown colour) and eat it. This will cure bile related diseases and will increase your hunger. Theraiyar says that, by boiling pepper as drinking water, the intake of it will equalize vali, azhal, aiya related disesses and other severe diseases. Boil the pepper water and allow to shrink it to the ratio of 1:8. Original www.siththarkal.com Translated by Lalilthambika Rajasekaran In this world, the only thing a man cannot win over is death alone. With all these advanced medical research, we only can postpone death little further but cannot overcome it completely. However, Agathiyar says it is possible to win over death too and concerning information is in his book Agathiyar Poorana Sooththiram 216. However the practicability and genuinity of this information need further research and discussions. Hence, I would like to consider this merely as information sharing.

On moving towards south from there for kaatham* distance, there we can see trees with three leaves as bunch. On centre of those trees lies tree called jothi virutcham and there lies white saarai paambu*. On seeing this snake, just hold its centre part. That part comes by hand and other two ends join together and snake too will not bite. After, the fusion of two end, snake will run away. Now, Agathiyar advises to eat up the centre holding part of snake. For those who ate this part, their body will not decay for 20,000 years. During this long life, one should not go behind gold and money rather than that, one should be focused to find types of kalpa and meditate by focusing the vision on centre of eye brow. Amazing information right!! *Kaatham a measure of distance of roughly sixteen km *Saarai paambu rat-snake Original www.siththarkal.com Translated by Lalilthambika Rajasekaran Death! It is a pre-determined fact on our birth. Unfortunately, none of us likes it. Our human race scuffles over a period to keep them live. In this death winning race, our Siththars made a remarkable success point. They left over their experience and the valuable points to people via their students. Unfortunately, we people have made no effort to find and use those valuables. This method of winning the death or keeping the body healthy without destruction is termed as kaya kalpa by Siththars. However, we have seen this explanation well before. Readers can refresh the concerning ideas from these posts, Kaya Kalpa. Siththars noted two types of kaya kalpa viz, medicinal kaya kalpa and yoga kaya kalpa. Let us see one type of yogic kaya kalpa in todays post. Korakkar describes this technique in one of his book Ravimekalai. This technique involves mantra chanting type of kaya kalpa.
nilaththidumun kaayamaavi illaiyaemana vaathu. - (Korakkar) Korakkar says, for attaining long life and healthy body, one should chant this mantra for only one lakh time. This chanting will eradicate the Yama (God of death) fear from concerned person. Nothing goes wrong in mantra chanting. One can felt this truth on the series of mantra chanting. On chanting this mantra, desire and fraudility in the mind of the person get destroyed. Everything goes well! Let us see the concerned mantra for long life nad healthy body. " rekshikiyae namao namaa paarvathi

thakshani naku lak shreereeng
ka ka luk tang lung
akshari hari pirama vishnu
Aaathma samreksha aathaara peeja
kada kada miruth vinaasaka
it it imaam imaanja
ik ruk mama thuyirul needithae namahaa. Chanting this mantra for 1 lakh time on facing east direction results in attaining siddhi. Original www.siththarkal.com Translated by Lalithambika Rajasekaran Whenever we talk about the Siththars, we naturally remind about their unchanging youth and their long life. " kaanaathu siththarku kaayam valunirka
enaakaththinna visaintha murai kaelu
eenaaga vayathu iruppathil mandalam
poonaa varupathil poalretti thinnu" - 600 (Thirumoolar vaithiya saaram 600) Thirumoolar also says the same as, the Siththars remain youthful all the time with the same strength but the common people cannot live like them. So to keep our body youthful with strength eat the Kaya kalpa, says Thirumoolar. He also says that if we are around 20 years old, we need to take the Kay kalpa for 48 days and if aged 60 years we need to have it for 96 days. " thinnidu thonnooru saer moonru mandalam
pannidu thandil paliyaathu karpam thaanae
mannidai maantharae varunthip pirakkaamal
ennidu maeni ilanthaip paruvamae" - 600 (Thirumoolar vaithiya saaram 600) If aged 90 years we have to eat the Kalpa for 144 days, and for those who are aged above 90years this Kaya kalpa will not have any impact. Hence to avoid all the troubles that we face in our old age and to remain youthful we need to take Kaya kalpa in adolescent age itself, says Thirumoolar. " paruvamaai vaaznthaal palanaethoa vennaathae
aruvamaai gnana vaganda mahaa yoagam
surupamaai vaaykkum suka siththi aadalaam
nirupamaai paazhu nilaiyam veliyaamae" - 600 (Thirumoolar vaithiya saaram 600) Do not think it is unnecessary to eat the Kaya kalpa for being youth by facing all these difficulties. Because only if we are youthful, attaining wisdom will be easy. In that case you can also make so many theurgies and for attaining the yogic wisdom you will not find any health issues and very easily you will realize the three stages of life and attain a stage of feeling the completion, says Thirumoolar. With this the importance that the Siththars has given to the Kaya Kalpa is very clear. With another useful information I shall meet you in the next post. Original - www.siththarkal.com Translated by - There are so many varities of Kaya kalpa, if I start teling about all those Kaya kalpa then it may lead an endless posting. In my previous post I have told about a few kinds of Kaya kalpa. After eating the Kaya kalpa, to identify that kalpa has been attained take Cissus quadrangularis and on eating it will taste sweet as sugarcane says Siththars. Also they have told that for those who have attained Kaya siddhi, whatever they eat nothing will happen to their body. " thiththikkum latsanam thaan pirandai munthi

moththikku moonrudambil thaeganthagam

ammammaa thaegamellaam kalangumaachchae" By following the methods above said and identifying that one has attained karpam, eating arsenics, mercury, brimstone their body will glow like a bright light. Also the grey growth of hairs and shrinking of skin due to aging, the skin peels off and becomes goldish and there will be no yawning, tireness and sleep. All these are the signs to identfy, says Siththars. Like this the Paambaatti Siththar has also told about the benefits he attained on eating the kalpa. " kaalanenum kodithaan kadum pagaiyai naam

Likewise there are so many people whose names we do not know, had also practiced Kaya Kalpa. Ramalinga Vallalar is junior to all of them, but Vallalar has preferred Yogic Kaya Kalpa methods than medicinal Kaya Kalpa methods. What is that Yogic Kaya Kalpa method? In addition to all this the Siththars has also told about a method to prepare drinking water. This strengthens your body, prevents you from death, and prevents you from growing grey, disease, hunger, thirst, adolescence, sleep. To keep themselves young they used this Kaya Kalpa only. The herbs that are used to make this, the method of doing, diet to be followed, timings to eat all these have been clearly said by the Siththars in their medical scripts.

Growing grey, wrinkle skin, senilism, disease, death, all this couldnt be obstructed by any scientists. Why it is not possible? If it is possible, then how it can be achieved? The one who has found answer of all these queries and one who has overcome from all these dilemmas are Siththars only. The techiniques to win from diseases, to avoid from losing our adolescence, protecting ourselves from death invading us are known to Siththars only. They have written those techniques in the form of songs for people to be beneficent out of it. These ways of avoiding death is the technique of being immortal called as Kaya Kalpa.
