Rhythm Exercises: Part 1


Practice these rhythms in 2 ways.

1. Just clap the rhythms along with a metronome. Start at a slow tempo like 60-bpm.
Once you can play with no mistakes 3 times without stopping, raise the metronome
increments by 5-bpm and repeat. Work your way to a challenging tempo like 160-
bpm and move on to the next step.

2. Next, play the exercises on your Bass using the G on the 5th fret of the D string. Again,
play along with a metronome starting with a slow tempo, gradually increasing as you
play with no mistakes. This time really focus in on the Note and Rest durations
