FOG Detector Terminals

This document provides details on the factory default terminal strip connections for the external power and data connections of an FD-410Ex fog detector. Terminal Strip 1 connections include: 1) positive and negative DC power supply, 2) communications in and out, 3) common alarms, and 4) normally closed fog and fault alarm contacts. The fog and fault alarms are fail-safe and will trigger if power is lost or cables disconnected. Cable screens may be grounded via the cable glands if required.

* Dependent upon whether Mode A or I is used. For Pharos Marine & API products Factory
Default is Mode A (Active) with the Fog Alarm contacts Common (TS1-6) & Contact 2 (TS1-
8) normally closed to prevent the fog signal from blasting to character.

Fog Alarm contacts will open either in the presence of fog, if power is interrupted, or a
cable disconnected (Fail-safe Mode)

^ Dependent upon whether Mode A or I is used. For Pharos Marine & API products Factory
Default is Mode A (Active) with the Fault Alarm contacts Common (TS1-9) & Contact 2
(TS1-11) normally closed (fail-safe).

Fault Alarm contacts will open either in the presence of a fault, if power is interrupted, or a
cable disconnected (Fail-safe Mode)

Cable screens may be bonded to ground if required via the cable gland(s) within the
Fog Detector
