The product of multiplying any number by 0 is 0, and the product of multiplying any number by 1 is the number itself. Order does not matter when multiplying two numbers. Word problems involve multiplying quantities such as number of students across multiple schools, costs of multiple books, distances traveled based on speed over time, number of books across library racks, number of pages across multiple books, and number of blocks across multiple boxes.
