Aryan Invaded India

The Indo-Aryans originated in Central Asia and invaded northern India around 1500 BC, introducing their Indo-European language. There are several theories about the original homeland of the Aryans, including the Arctic region, Tibet, and Central Asia. During their invasion of India, the Aryans brought with them the Sanskrit language and established a social hierarchy known as the caste system. They introduced a patriarchal social structure and influenced Indian culture, religion, and languages for generations to come.

Aryan invaded India

Aryan Meaning
The Sanskrit word aryan refer to one who is righteous and
noble .It is also used in the context of gentlemen.
In English the word Arya refers to particular race and
language.
THE ORIGIN OF INDO ARYANS
The Indo-Aryans originated in Central Asia sand invaded
the sub-continent of India starting around 1500BC

with modern Europe and Iranians

THEORY
1.Arctic region Theory
• From the book “Arctic home in the vedas” by “Bal
ganghadar tilak”.
• Aryans original home was Arctic region.
• Leave the place because of the growing cold.
• Now geologists proved that in ancient days the
climate near the poles was quite pleasant.
• Fossils of animals found that prove the theory is
strong.
2.Tibetan Theory
• Advanced by “Dayanand saraswati” in his book
“satyarth prakash”.
• According to him:
• As tibet is cold so Aryans gave much importance to
fire.
• As they worship fire they are from tibet.
• Dr.sampurna has critised this theory.
3.Sapt sindhu theory
According to the eminent historians A C Das, K M Munshi
the Aryans originally belonged to the Sapt-Sindhu or Punjab.
This point of view was put forward by A C Das in his book
Rig Vedic India. He says that all the plants, rivers, crops and
animals mentioned in Rig-Veda and other ancient books were
found in ancient Punjab. The geographical conditions in Rig-
Veda points out to this region. But this theory is not
convincing. If the Aryans had been indigenous inhabitants of
the Sapt Sindhu area there would have been no need for them
to desert such a fertile area and go to other parts. Aryans
were unaware of animals such as elephant and lion which
were found mainly in India. This proves that Aryans were
foreigners
4.Austro Hungarian theory
Austro Hungarian theory was presented by Prof
Macdonell and Dr P Giles who used to believe that they
came via east Europe as there were language similarities.
5.The Central Asian Theory
Max muller maintained that there was an original Aryan
homeland in Central Asia. He postulated a small Aryan
clan on a high elevation in central Asia, speaking a
language which has not yet Sanskrit or Greek , a kind of
proto-language ancestral to later Indo European
languages. from here and over the course of some
centuries it branched off in two directions ,one came
toward Europe and the other migrated to Iran. Eventually
splitting again with one segment invading north-western
India. The northern Aryans who said to have migrated to
Europe they developed the idea of a nation. While the
southern Aryans who migrated to Iran and to India were
passive and meditative concerned with religion and
philosophy. The aryans according to MAX MULLER
were fair complexioned Indo-European speakers who
conquered the dark skinned dasa of India. The aryans and
non Aryans arer segregated through caste system i.e upper
caste are aryans and vice versa.
