In this chapter a short video entitled “Spanish influences to the Philippines” talks about the
cultural changes and identity which are Spanish influences and impact of cultural changes in the
Philippines. The short video started with the name the production who made the video so this is a
good start because the video does not go straight to the point. Also as we can see in all movies
they start with the productions of the movie. Next is before they discuss the topic, the presenter
introduce herself into the viewers so that we can get a closure of who are saying in the video. She
introduce herself in a creative way and connected in the topic. She talks with a spanish language
and introduce the topic of the video. First they have a background about Spain. They introduce
that the Spain was one of the most powerful nations in the world around 1500s. They explained
the 3G’s that are the objective of the Spain in colonizing the Philippines. They also say about
coming of Magellan in 1521. Then after that they are with the influences of Spain in the
Philippines. They are so many influences of Spain in 333 years of their colonization in the
Philippines:churches, new crops, new industries, hospitals/ asylums, founders of towns, forms of
amusement, new technology, arts and literature, manner of dressing, Spanish names and
education. It stated in the video about the peninsulares and insulares, ilustrados, chines mestizos,
indios and three social class. Our alphabet was change into latin alphabet which are we using
until now. In the last minute they thought us their references which are very important to know
that their informations are real and did not take the informations their own.
This short video, the topic about the Spanish influences in the Philippines was stated in the
video very well and the one who are talking in the video have an effort in her dress to in the
topic. Also it is worth watching because the background voice was slow so that the viewers
understand the different details in every aspects of influences in the Philippines. They also give
an example pictures of each classes and schools that are build in Spanish times. The background
music also in the topic of the video. Even if the video is short, it contains useful information that
can be use now and in the future.
