Memo

TO: Prospective Cooperating Teacher

FROM: Brennan Dillard, Future Teacher
DATE: December 6th, 2020
SUBJECT: Our Future Cooperation!
Dear Prospective Cooperating Teacher,
My name is Brennan Dillard, and Iam the student who will be soon joining you for
cooperative instruction. I grew up in the Bay Area of California and I am currently a
student at Chico State University. The area of education that I’m choosing to major in is
English, as I have found myself quite fond of the subject for most of my life. I have plans
to teach English at a high school level, for I believe that this is the period of a students
life where a teacher is capable of having the most profound effects upon them, and I
hope to be an educator that pushes their students in a positive direction.
I’m more than thrilled to be invited into your classroom and given the opportunity to
teach beside you. I can’t wait to finally get some first hand experience and watch a
professional do the job. I anticipate that I will be picking up a lot of useful information
from you this session, so I just wanted to thank you in advance.
My 2 main goals for this journey are developing a sense of what is like to teach in a
professional manner, and also working on my ability to connect with the students. I
believe that these elements are rather crucial for an effective teacher. I believe that a
students education is the most important part of their development as an individual, and
I would love to be a person who is capable of facilitating learning in a way that is useful
for the children.
Once again, I thank you for being gracious enough to allow me such an awesome
opportunity. I’m anxious to meet you and the class, but I’m sure that will quickly subside
once we get into the swing of things. I hope that you’re doing well and that life is treating
you fairly.

Sincerely,
Brennan Dillard
