Prince Siddhartha Gautam was born in Lumbini in Nepal about2555 years
ago. He had a luxurious royal life in the palace until he was 29. He was
completely ignorant of the troubles of everyday life. One day, he went outside
and shocked when he saw an old man, a cripple and a corpse. These sights
made him leave the palace and worldly pleasures in order to find the cause of
these suffering and the true meaning of life. After much wandering and
searching, Gautam finally attained enlightenment and became known as the
‘Buddha’. He preached “The four Noble Truths”. According to him, desire is the
root cause of all sufferings. These desires and other problems can be totally
eliminated by following the rule ‘eightfold paths’- right views, right intent,
right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right mindfulness and right
meditation.

Dadeldhura district in Mahakali Zone is one of the seventy five districts of
Nepal. It is surrounded by Doti and kailali in the east, Baitadi in the North, ,
India in the west and kanchanpur in the south. The headquarters of this
district is Dadeldhura. It has an area of 1538 square kilometers and has a
population (2011) of 143094.
The region has mountainous landscape. It is the main doer of the hilly districts
of the Far western part of Nepal . Nagi Malla of Doti kingdom was the last
royal to rule here before the unification of nation.
The spoken language is Dotyel, a variety of Nepali language and the majority of

8.Write an essay on “My Daily Routine” in about 150 words
Holi is the festival of colours. It is one of the most beautiful festivals in Hindu
culture. It is a joyful festival celebrating the victory over the evils. This festival
is generally celebrated in the month of February or early March. The people
from the Terai celebrate it a day later with more joy and ceremony.
Fagu purnima is another name for Holi. Fagu means the sacred red powder and
purnima is the full moon day on which the festival is celebrated. People play
with different colours on this day. It is usually celebrated for a week in the
terai. However, it is only the day that all people celebrate with colours. People
can be seen going round the streets either on foot or on some vehicles, with q
variety of colours smeared over their face and body.
During this festival, family members and friends get together and celebrate the
occasion with a lot of merry making. It is also an outburst of youthful
excitement throwing colours and water balloons(lolas) at each other.

Aesop was a Greek slave who lived in the sixth century B.C. Because of the stories
which he told at feast and festivals, he became famous. Although Aesop was a great story
teller, he didn’t write his stories himself. He was important because he collected old
stories and made them popular.
Because of his skill in telling stories, Aesop was made a free man. One of the Greek kings
was hugely impressed by his story telling, so he was sent on important mission by the
