NOTES

Please follow these dietary guidelines and let us achieve our health goals.

A. Foods Permitted.

a. Whole cereals like wheat, jowar, bajra, multigrain bread, whole wheat bread etc.

b. All kind of vegetables at least 3 cups daily. Green leafy vegetables should be consumed at least 3 tim
es a week.

c. Whole fruits like papaya, apple, pear, watermelon etc can be consumed.

d. Milk and milk products should be made of cow’s milk or skimmed milk e.g .curd, paneer

e. Nuts like almonds, walnuts and peanuts can be onsumed on daily basis but not more than 25 gms.

f. Homemade soups, chaas, lime juice without sugar can be had any time of the day.

g. Restrict consumption of oil to 3-4 tsp (15-20ml) per day.

Foods to be Avoided:

a. Sugar, honey, jaggery, glucose.

b. Sweets, cakes, pastries, cream, chocolates, ice creams.

c. Refined flour i.e. maida and maida products to be avoided e.g. bread, khari, toast and butter

d. High starchy foods like sago, arrowroot and vegetables like potato, sweet potato, suran, arbi, ratali to
be limited.

e. All kind of fruit juices, carbonated beverages and sherbets.

f. All kind of canned fruits and vegetables.

g. Dry fruits like pista, cashewnuts, figs, should be limited etc.

h. Coconut (fresh and dry), gingerlly seeds, sesame seeds should be used less.

i. Fried foods like samosa, wada, bhajiyas, chips, puries, paratha, etc.

j. Papad, pickles, farsans.

k. Jam, jelly, marmalades, desserts and puddings.

l. Butter, ghee, cheese, mayonnaise, margarine etc.
