Chapter 2 ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND STRUCTURE

8
Organizational Management Theory

Natures Taste company used theory Z to establish the business

organization as a manufacturing company, in which the company manager

focused on having a long-term partnership with employees and to include them in

decision-making. It is useful for them to feel valued and to have a good

relationship with each other. The more efficient your workers are the more profits

your business can produce. A good relationship between managers and

employees contributes to economic development and growth, which leads to an

increase in efficiency. In turn, higher performance leads to increased productivity

and growth. The management of this company must be more competitive by

carrying out its duties and having outstanding performance on the part of the

employees. It is crucial to keep employees motivated if the organization desires

to get the best out of them. The workers take the initiative in decision-making,

have a good relationship and empower employees to do their goal [ CITATION

Sco15 \l 1033 ].

Employees feel more motivated to work for a company because of the

satisfaction they offer. This company's management aims to measure the

performance of individuals. Each worker’s performance should be assessed by

this firm.

Advantages:

9
 Employees will be satisfied mostly by benefits of the company, which may

eventually enhance their confidence.

 The manager supports Employee Strategies to improve the growth of the

organization.

 A strong relationship must be built between employee and the manager in

the decision making.

 There is an individual responsibility within group context and an individual

accountability and performance appraisal.

Disadvantages:

 Employees possibly will be reluctant to participate in decision-making due

to fear of being criticized.

 Employee lock encouragement and awareness could have an impact on

the company.

 Workers need to be productive in order to prevent problems in the

company.

Type of Business Organization

Partnership

The proponents of this study agreed to adopt a partnership type of

organization for the following reasons: First of all, with more than one owner,

you're not really going to struggle to earn a capital. In addition, the skills and

knowledge of your partners will be the key to the success of the company and to

10
make a profit, although profits must be shared to their partners. Finally, the

decisions made for the business of your partners is properly discussed and you

have a lot of ideas to share.

Advantages:

 It is easy to establish a business. The partners will have an agreement,

either oral or written.

 There are two or more people in the partnership who manage the

business. It's better to have a lot of people managing a business.

 Business affairs of a partners are private.

Disadvantages:

 There will be a risk of disagreement between the partners.

 Each partner is liable for its share of the debts of the partnership as well as

for all debts.

The type of partnership preferred by researchers is the general

partnership. Nature’s Taste Company is a shared ownership of a business by two

or more people. Ownership of the company is liable for the debts and other

obligations of the partnership. The owners of this business organization is

responsible for both the demands and resources of this business. The partners

allow each other to share their thoughts through formal or informal agreement.

Advantages:

11
 Partnership is the simplest form of business structures and is easy to

establish.

 In general partnership, both partners are required to invest in the business

in such a way that they are liable for business debt.

 Partnerships have few formalities to develop this organization.

 Partnership can develop a strategic plan as part of the experience that the

company can share.

Disadvantages:

 Partnership is limited to access in capital and resources.

 The general partnership should not take actions independently.

Articles of Partnership

Partnerships are mandatory to be registered with the Securities and Exchange

Commission (SEC). Registration is made by filing the Articles of Partnership with

the SEC. The Articles of Partnership is the obligations, responsibilities and roles

of each partner and how the profits and losses will be shared and states who the

general and limited partners are. It sets all the terms and conditions jointly

agreed by the partner.

Organizational Structure

Line Organizational Structure

The proponents opted to select the line organizational structure because of the

direct relationship and the flow of authority between the manager and the

subordinates. It expresses the authority that is being delegated from the top to

the bottom position. The proponents believe that implementing a direct flow of

authority will lead to a well-organized process within the business. It is the

simplest form of organizational structure as indicated by the direct line, the level

of authority can easily be recognized. There is a direct relationship within the

organization, the line of authority flows down the chain of command. It gives an

individual a certain degree of power relating to the performance of an

organizational task. Subordinates know whom they are liable. In the line type of

organization, information is communicated in a more organized flow from the

lower level up to the top management and vice versa in terms of the delegating

decisions. It is also considered efficient for it has a more hands-on approach and

allows decisions to be made quickly. Complaints can be entertained in a direct

18
manner and problems will promptly solve without the need to communicate to the

top management. The management aims for a work force that builds the highest

possible quality within the product. It described the manpower required to

implement the plan, employees' level of expertise and their responsibilities. The

Peracesco's Legacy Company has seven (7) employees that suit the business

rights [ CITATION Pra1 \l 1033 ].

Line Organization Structure

Advantages:

 Responsibilities are fixed and defined

 It explains the task of every worker in an obligation

 The duties and responsibilities are clearly defined for each employee

Disadvantages:

 Enhances for nepotism and favoritism are more under system.

 Lack of specialization

 As firms grows larger, line organization becomes ineffective.

PRODUCT

Product Description

Peracesco vinegar is made from antidezma bunius fruit mixed with yeast,

sugar and water. This is suitable for mothers or anyone who wants to cook a few

dishes, salad dressing, condiments, or anything that can do with vinegar.

Peracesco vinegar can do more than any other vinegar also on the market. This

is not ordinary vinegar, this vinegar has an exact sour taste with many benefits to

be gained from it. According to [ CITATION hea20 \l 1033 ], "The benefits come from

the bignay used, researchers use it as their main ingredients. This vinegar

contains vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B1, iron, minerals, fiber, potassium and
phosphorus. It can also lower your cholesterol, lose weight, and keep your heart

healthy."

Classification of products

Consumer product

Peracesco Vinegar is a condiment used for seasoning in the preparation

and cooking of a few dishes, making its taste very useful and versatile.

Consumer goods or final goods, are products that are purchased to sell to

consumers for their own use or enjoyment and not as means for further

economic production activity. From an economic standpoint, consumer goods

can be classified as durable (useful for longer than 3 years), non-durable (useful

for less than 3 years), or pure services (consumed instantaneously as they are

produced). For marketing purposes, consumer goods can be grouped into

different categories based on consumer behavior, how consumers shop for them

and how frequently consumers shop for them.

Rate of Consumption and Tangibility

Non-durables

The Peracesco Company categorized their product as non-durable. It is

also known as Soft Goods. It is the opposite of durable goods and are all called

consumables. This may be defined as goods that are immediately consumed in

one use or have a lifespan of less than three years. Examples of non-durable
goods include cosmetics, cleaning products, foods, beverages, and others. Non-

durable goods are generally not rented, buying non-durable goods comes under

the category of consumption of goods [ CITATION RJO \l 1033 ].

Consumer’s Shopping Habits

According to [ CITATION Max17 \l 1033 ], the convenience product is bought

most frequently. A convenience product is a consumer product or service that

customers normally buy frequently, immediately and without great comparison or

buying effort. Examples include articles such as laundry detergents, fast food,

sugar and magazines. As you can see, convenience products are those types of

consumer products that are usually low-priced and placed in many locations to

make them

readily

available

when

consumers

need or

want them.

PRICE

Pricing strategy
Price skimming is a pricing technique in which a marketer initially sets a

relatively high initial price for a good or service, then over time reduces the price.

It is a temporal variant of the management of price discrimination or yield. A

pricing strategy in which the retailer sets a high introductory price in order to

attract consumers with a deep demand for the commodity and the money to

purchase it, and then progressively lowers the price to attract the next and

subsequent layers of the market [ CITATION Chi18 \l 1033 ].

Pricing Approaches

The researcher chose a cost based approach because this pricing

approach is the simplest one in which the cost of product or service is added with

a certain proportion of mark up as profit to certain price.

Computation

Material cost – ₱2,050.00 Total cost - ₱3,800.00 = 38.00

Many people trust these markets for a very long time. The researchers conceive

that it'd be a good idea to choose these markets as their business partner by

selling their Peracesco vinegar product.

Peracesco vinegar lasts more than 6 months. The packaging is made from

sturdy materials that can protect the product inside. Researchers created this

packaging to attract customer's attention and interest. It does not easily break out

no matter what goes through it. It can also stock for a long time. That is why

Channel C is the chosen channel for the market, which is the appropriate

marketing channel for the product.

Peraecesco vinegar will be distributed as a wholesaler at the selected

markets in Guagua, Pampanga. The lists of target markets will be the Goodluck

supermarket, save more and chuzon market.

Distribution Strategies

Nature’s Taste company aims to use selective distribution. Since the

product will not be available in all markets. It is only distributed in selected

markets in Guagua, Pampanga. It is for the easy determining of how the

distributor handles the product and deals with the customers, enabling further

enhancement of high end markets to retain brand image.
