Present Simple Past Simple


"I come to school every day" She said she came to school every day.
"She doesn't have any lunch." He told me she didn't have any lunch.
"Do you like chocolate?" She asked me if I liked chocolate.

Present Continuous Past Continuous


"I'm reading a new novel." She said she was reading a new novel.
"You aren't doing much" He told me I wasn't doing much
"Is he buying this house?" She asked me whether he was buying that house.
Past Simple Past Perfect

"They were very good students" She said they had been very good students.

"I didn't understand a word" He told me he hadn't understood a word"

"What did you do yesterday?" She asked me what I had done the day before.

Past Continuous Past Perfect Continuous

"He was having a shower at that time" She said he had been having a shower at that time.

"We weren't watching the film," He told me they hadn't been watching the film.

"Who were you talking to?." She asked me who I had been talking to.
Present Perfect Past Perfect

"I have never eaten Chinese yet." She said she had never eaten Chinese yet.

"He hasn't been to the coast" He told me he hadn't been to the coast.

"Have you ever seen a UFO?" She asked me if I had ever seen a UFO.

Past Perfect Past Perfect

"He had cooked everything when I She said he had cooked everything when she
arrived" arrived.

"She hadn't read any of the magazines" He told me she hadn't read any of the
magazines.
"Had she known a lot of people there?" She asked me if she had known a lot of
people there.
Future Would

"She'll be 18 next month" She said she would be 18 the following month.

"We won't be able to go to the party" He told me they wouldn't be able to go to the party.

"Will you be here?" She asked me whether I would be there.

Can Could

"She can go anywhere she wants" She said she could go anywhere she wanted.

"We can't sing that song" He told me they couldn't sing that song.

"Can she draw?" She asked me whether she could draw.
