CHAPTER 1 : INTRODUCTION

• The greatest asset any Institution can have is the Alumni system. Alumni are
the people who represent the Institution in the real world. Alumni website is
created for the students that have graduated from the Institution.

• The alumni network is becoming important in the development of the

institution because of their vast potential that benefits both the Institution and
the students.

• It is great for students to communicate with various people and to be a part of

a community without much being of stress

1.1PROJECT OBJECTIVES

i. to manage alumni data of a college and provide easy access ii.

Quick data retrieval and large amount of data storing iii. to

search for job opportunity in very easy and user friendly way

iv. to reduce manual work

v. to communicate with other students about current activities

1.2 EXISTING SYSTEM AND NEED OF SYSTEM

i. Existing system is a manual one in which users are maintaining documents paper
work to store the information like colleges details, student details.
ii. It is very difficult to maintain historical data, it becomes difficult to maintain
important information in documents paper work and also more manual hours are
needed to generate required reports.
iii. It is tedious to manage historical data which needs much space to keep all the
previous years, ledgers, documents paper work.

1.3 SCOPE OF WORK

i. Setting Up For event or to organize it seems a bit boring job

to do.
ii. Alumnus can easily apply for job and participate in events.
iii. Getting Data of Previous alumni easily.

iv. Students can add information about working experience so seek further Job
opportunities.Also it has Photo Galary of the Events,meets etc.

1.6 MODULE SPECIFICATION

A LOGIN MODULE:
Here, the users of website can loging for further processes.

B. COMMUNICATION AND STUDENT DETAIL MODULE:

• This module allows alumni to chat with his alumni friend of a region or with a group
of alumni students.

• This module will help students to interact with admin .

• The Student detail module will show the details of alumini such as Name,Contact
Number,Email id etc

C. SEARCH AND PHOTO GALARY
• This module lets an alumni of the college to search different alumni members and
other office bearers also to search for various events and community of separate
region.
• This module allows alumni to maintain photo gallery of recent alumni meet. It
includes images of various alumni events.

D. JOB AND EVENT MODULE

• Alumnus can put Job opportunities.
• Upcoming events to be Joined in Further Time.

DRAWBACKS AND LIMITATIONS

• This project is academic level project so it is not so professional .There are chances of
errors and enhancement that can be done upto any level.
• We have used phpmyadmin as database server .so, the person having knowledge
about phpmyadmin can easily modify data which is risky. We have done data
validation upto maximum level but still system can accept invalid data.
• This project is tested on basic level so it may contain technical level errors if
executable code is corrupted then system may not work properly.

PROPOSED ENHANCEMENT

• System can be enhanced on all levels for many things.

• Data must be validated before acceptance.
• Database size should be considered for future reference.
• System must be flexible enough for future changes.
• System can be enhanced up to any level.

CONCLUSION

• Computer do have an influence on our lifestyle.It is impossible to avoid

reading,seeing,hearing about computers in our day to day life simply cannot be denied
or ignored.Computers are now found in almost each and every field.
• This project is used by internet to internet websites to prepare time-tables,schedule the
service,surfing the downloading in advance to facilitate the requirement provided by
internet café for the convenience of customers.
• This project is designed to take into account variable factors as mentioned above and
generate reports as per the requirements.
