Sports training is a systematic and scientific process that prepares athletes for competition through long-term exercise programs divided into preparatory, competition, and transitional periods. The preparatory period focuses on developing basic fitness in phase 1, general and specific fitness in phase 2, and decreasing volume while increasing intensity in phase 3. The competition period aims to achieve peak performance for competitions through high-intensity training like speed work. The transitional period provides active rest and recovery after competitions to avoid similar high-intensity activities.
