This study will examine the relationship between principals' leadership styles and collective teacher efficacy among 50 elementary school principals and 324 teachers in Malolos City, Philippines. It will utilize a survey questionnaire sent via Google Form to selected school principals and teachers between March to May. Statistical analysis including Pearson's correlation and multi-regression will be used to analyze relationships between transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles and collective teacher efficacy. The goal is to provide new insights into how principal leadership can impact collective teacher efficacy and teacher work performance, which is currently under-researched in the Philippines.

HOW?
Who
It covers 50 Elementary Principals’ and 324 Teachers
What
involves Principals’ and Teachers from different positions/ranks. The participating schools are
rated from “good to best” in terms of school performance.
Where
The study will be conducted on the different schools around Malolos City.
When
third quarter of the year.
Why
It is also limited to teachers who has at least one year teaching experience in the public school
since the researcher will have to look for the collective efficacy being built among the teachers.
How
The researcher divided the entire population into subpopulation so that the result of the study is
equally distributed, and everybody has the opportunity to be chosen.
Using the google form, the survey questionnaire will be sent to the emails of the selected school
principals and teachers.
Theories are dated way way back because it is a proven theory. All related literatures and
studies are up to date.
What kind of descriptive method?
A non-experimental descriptive method will be used

Multifactor leadership scale (MLQ) - developed by Bass and Avolio in 1990.
- The Cronbach’s Alpha Value of the calculated internal consistency of the scale was
found to be between .70 and .98.
- On the other hand, the reliability coefficient is found to be between 0.65 to 0.69.
Collective Teacher Efficacy – developed by Goddard et. al (2000)
- The reliability coefficient of this scale is .91.
- On the other hand, the Cronbach Alpha Value of the test is 0.87.

WHAT IS THE STATITISTICAL TOOL AND THE RANGE SCALE TO BE USED


The researcher will employ a Pearson’s Moment Correlation Analysis to examine the
relationship between Principals’ Leadership Styles and Collective Teacher Efficacy.
Consequently, Multi-Regression Analysis will also be applied to know the statistical
significance of Transformational, Transactional and Laissez-Faire Leadership Style in
relation to Collective Teacher Efficacy.

POPULATION?

The population of principals in the Division of Malolos is 57 while the teachers are
2,036. The sample selected by the researcher involves 50 elementary school principals
and 324 elementary teachers from the Department of Education Schools Division of
Malolos. Slovin’s Formula is conducted to correctly get the sample in order to represent
the population.

The issue of leadership style and collective teacher efficacy is not fully explored in the
Philippines. Especially now the suicidal moments of teachers are all over the news, the study
wants to delve deeper on the management and leadership style of principals. Ang bago din po sa
ating research ay this is the only research that wants to know the relationship between the
leadership of the principal and collective teacher efficacy in order to know how it can affect their
work performance.
