PV Solar Module: 1.0 Standards and Codes

This document discusses standards and requirements for PV solar modules. It specifies that modules must meet standards like IEC 61215 for design qualification and type approval. It also requires spare modules for maintenance and special tools for installation and maintenance. Performance ratio tests will be conducted for 30 days after commissioning to verify the plant's energy production matches guaranteed values. Instrumentation like power meters, pyranometers and thermo couples will be used to monitor irradiance, power output, and temperature for testing.

PR-Provisional Acceptance Test Verification Procedure
The Performance ratio test aims at the comparison of the actual PV plant energy production
with the guaranteed value for a limited operation time of the PV plant of 30 consecutive days.
After Commissioning of the Plant and after receiving all the satisfactory results regarding the
correct operation of the plant, there will be continuous monitoring of the performance for 30
days. This monitoring will be performed on the site under the supervision of the Employer
/Employer's engineer.
The final tests to prove the guaranteed performance parameters shall be conducted at site by
the Contractor in presence of the Employer. The Contractor’s commissioning /start-up Engineer
shall make the plant ready to conduct such tests. The Performance Guarantee Tests (PG tests)
shall be commenced, within a period of 15 days after successful Commissioning. Any extension
of time beyond the above period shall be mutually agreed upon.
Performance Ratio of the plant will be calculated as per IS/IEC61724:2021 (Photovoltaic system
performance monitoring - Guidelines for measurement, data exchange and analysis).

Monitoring System for PR Verification

The following instrumentation will be use to determine the Solar Plant Performance:
 Power Meter at the delivery point.
 Power Meter for each inverter for reference only.
 One no. calibrated pyrano meter to determine irradiance on the plane of array
(withatargetmeasurementuncertaintyof±2).
 One no. calibrated pyrano meter to determine irradiance on horizontal plane (with at argent
measurement uncertainty of±2)
 Two nos. thermo couples to measure module temperature with a measurement uncertainty
of±1°C.
 Shielded ventilated thermo couple with a measurement accuracy of ±1°C.
 Ananemo meter mounted on a 10mm as to measure wind speed (without additional
shadowing an modules).
During the comprehensive O&M period after commissioning, PR shall be tested in yearly
basis considering 100% grid availability. However customer may check the PR at any
time of the year for a period of minimum 7 days.
