1. Overview:

Teamlink FABIO-2CX helps in interfacing the attached devices with ITU-T V.21/V.23 to connect to E1
or Optical 1+1 channel. It is most suitable for Indian Railway Signaling Applications like Axle Counter
Inter-connection. The equipment's auto-change over facility allows automatic diversion of V.21/V.23
traffic to the available stand-by Copper circuit when the E1 or Optical link fails. Critical events reporting
enables immediate resolution of the problem. The unit is available in 18 V DC to 72V DC power supply.

FABIO-2CX is a modular integrated Access TDM multiplexer with 512 x 512 cross connect ability,
which integrates multiple dedicated data, voice and LAN channels over multiple main (network) links. It
can provide maximum 2 Electrical and 2 optical E1’s and 2W/4W E&M, Quad Cable Ports, RS232/V.24,
ETH capacity for accessing and transmission with cross-connect capacity is 512×512 64K. It provides full
range of voice and digital data services to subscribers located at different locations require to interconnect
and establish a voice and data network over E1 link or optical.

FABIO-2CX enables carriers to successfully deploy bundled services and Internet access. The integration
of a broad range of services makes FABIO-2CX a cost-effective access device, with reduced deployment
and maintenance costs. The equipment conforms to international standards, ensuring compatibility in
multi-vendor environments worldwide.

FABIO-2CX is designed to carry Various Original Equipment Manufacturer’s Digital Axle Circuits over
optical fiber (STM).

3. Interfaces:
3.1. Console:

The Console interface is used to connect the PC through the configuration cable for local configuration,
the baud rate of which is 115200 Baud.

3.2. Telnet:

The Telnet interface is used to access the network through the Ethernet cable for remote configuration.

4. Power supply interface:

Both AC and DC power supply interfaces are supported. The AC voltage range is 100V ~ 240V and DC
voltage range is between –36V ~ -72V DC.
Note: Please ensure of grounding protection when using AC power supply for safety.

6. Installation:
6.1. Unpacking:

The FABIO-2CX will provides the all accessories for connecting like console cables, RS232 cables for
connecting the console port and the Power cables for connecting the Unit,

6.2. Configuring the FABIO-2CX:

 Connect the RS232 Console cable to the FABIO-2CX in the RJ45 Socket and other end DB9
connector in the Host PC
 Open the HyperTerminal or any other Terminal Emulation Like Putty Tera term
 Keep the VT100 Emulation for Proper display of the Menus.
 Press Enter Key after the system is Booted.
 Give the Login and password
 Login is : root
 Default Password is : root

Configuration through the Telnet Interface

To Configure the TEAMLINK FABIO-2CX through the Telnet client Interface we need to configure the
IP Address, Net mask, Gateway Address By default the TEAMLINK FABIO-2CX is having the IP
Address 192.168.1.254 net mask 255.255.255.0 and Gateway Address 192.168.1.1, According to the
Network IP addresses configure the Equipment for configuration through the Telnet Interface, Ping the IP
address configured and check the healthy condition, Once the Ping Response is coming then Open the
Telnet Session that is like the RS232 Menu we will get on the screen .

Give Login name as root and the password as root default for getting the menus, Once the main menu is
came check for the basic configurations like LAN Configuration, Gateway Address configuration , Net
mask for the Local and configure each terminal ports basic configurations

7. TEAMLINK FABIO-2CX Menu Handling Procedure

Each Menu starting from the configuration through the Reset or logout the Equipment is having the
simple Display options It will have the numeric 1, 2, 3 etc select the Appropriate Menu by pressing the
Option followed by the Enter key. Once You Enter the Next menu If we required to come back from any
menu simply press character b and enter It will come back to the previous menu.

8. Local Ethernet Configuration

For Basic Configuration of the Equipment Select the Configuration menu in that Configuration select the
LAN Config Menu, Once You Enter into the LAN Configuration Menu, We have to configure the
Following parameters,

Local IP address: The IP address of the FABIO-2CX Server which is going to connect the Local
network and Assign the Gateway address also for Getting the Connectivity through the Local Gateway
Router for the Other Hosts,

Local Subnet mask: The subnet mask of the IP address by default is 255.255.255.0 If required to change
the according to the network then we need to change the Subnet mask accordingly,

Gateway Address: The Gateway Address of the FABIO-2CX is the Address which is required to Route
through the Default Router for connecting the Remote Hosts.

Once the Basic LAN Configuration is completed then we have to check the E1 Ports configuration
through the P1 Ports Config Menu.

Press the Port Number needs to configure It will displays the Parameters.

12. Status of the FABIO-2CX

The TEAMLINK FABIO-2CX is having the status menus for getting the status of the E1 status as well as
the Slot status and the Timeslot Mapping status.

Select the Option 1 For Entering into the E1 Status or press 2 for enter into the E&M Status, or press 3 for
enter into the Timeslot Mapping status, or press 4 for enter into the Optical Status

Press ‘b’ to come back to the Previous Menu, All the Menus are displayed in the Proper manner in which
we do not have any problem for checking in which menu we are having, The Top of the screen of the
FABIO-2CX in each and Every Menu will displays in which menu we are having.

According to that display we can go further or come back according to the user requirements.

13. E&M Status Menu

Select the Option 2 for Getting the status of the Slot 1 Status below snap shot of the FABIO-2CX will

14. Timeslot Mapping Status Menu

Select the Option 3 for Getting the status of the Timeslot Mapping Status below snap shot of the FABIO-
2CX will shoes the 1 to 31 Timeslot status.

Select the Option 4 for Getting the status of the optical Status below snap shot of the FABIO-2CX will
shoes the Optical link status and working optical port.

16. Loading the Default Configurations or Saving the Configurations

System Menu in the Main Menu Will Provides the Following Options

1. Load Default Config

2. Save Configuration
3. Change Username
4. Change Password

If the Equipment is having any problem while connecting to the Remote host or any host table problems
load the default configuration , the factory default configuration will be loaded with all the Terminal Ports
disabled, and 8 N 1 formatted 115200kbps speeds UART selection and the Terminal Ports are configured
with the switched mode operation.

After Loading the default configuration reset the FABIO-2CX and change the setting as per the user
requirements, Once the changes have been dome then go the save Configuration menu and save changes,
The TEAMLINK FABIO-2CX will ask for the confirmation save changes yes or no press
y for the Yes or If we do not want to save the changes in the non Volatile Memory Press n to Go back , If
the changes are not saved will be loaded with the old values once the FABIO-2CX is Rebooted.

In the Same System Menu user can Go the Reset Terminal Ports menu for the Resetting the Terminal
ports, After the Reset is applied The Terminal will ask for confirmation yes or No , Press Y for the Reset
or N to go back to the Previous Menu, If the user pressed Y button then the corresponding UART will be
reset and Reloaded or Reinitialized with the configuration, Once the Reset is successful then the
Terminal Is Ready for the Connection either implicit or Switched mode of Operation

The interface on the FABIO-2CX-SUB-6E&M adopts the RJ45 female connector.

19. Cable Connections

19.1. Connecting the Power and earth

FABIO-2CX is equipped with either AC or DC power supply. AC or DC power is supplied to FABIO-

2CX via a standard power input connector on the rear panel. Ensure proper earthing connection.

19.2. Connecting to AC Power

AC power should be supplied through the standard power cable terminated by a standard plug.
The cable is Provided with the unit.
To connect AC power:
1. Connect the power cable to the power connector on the FABIO -2CX rear panel.
2. Connect the power cable to the AC mains outlet.
The unit turns on automatically upon connection to the mains.

19.3. Connecting to DC Power

DC power is supplied to FABIO-2CX via a compatible DC cable for attaching -48V DC power
supply lines. While connecting to the DC power mains, the polarity needs to be taken care as per the
indications provided on the DC cable.
The DC power cord is provided along with the unit.
