“The problem isn't finding data; it's figuring out what to do with it.” The moment these words
registered in my brain, I felt the need and urge within me to work on it. From time to time, it was
somehow brought to my knowledge that there is so much data being generated every millisecond
that the whole idea is unfathomable. But then some incidents proved that was reality. I was
captivated when I realized we were surrounded by data. It was the time I was buying a pair of
shoes, and that's when I was recommended to buy socks with them. It made me think, "How does
this site know what goes with shoes?" The search for the answer to this question led me to a tool
called technology. Thus began the journey of my fascination with technology; ultimately computer
science. Noticing various recommender systems across every online platform unveiled that the new
era is all about automation and innovation. The next thought that struck my mind was far more
fascinating than the last. “How does technology know what to do?” Technology and data go hand
in hand to yield quality products in each sector. But how is this product forged? The simple answer
I discerned was programming. This sparked the desire to deep dive into programming aspects and
technologies. Recent years apprised me of the fact that almost every task is incomplete without
technology being part of it. To satiate the need of learning new tools and technologies to harness
the data, procure knack and use it for innovation, I opted for a master's degree in computer science.
I intend to acquire in-depth knowledge of all aspects of computer science.
Coming from an ECE background, I still felt the necessity to learn computer science aspects.
Learning C and C++ piqued my curiosity for programming languages. Working at Accenture
showed me the importance of automation and technology. Pursuing Masters would help me acquire
the skills and knowledge required to become a successful data scientist. Not only will it broaden
my horizon, but also provide me with ample opportunities. I want to pursue a master's degree in
Computer Science to enhance and be proficient in my technological skills. Having laid a solid
foundation for my academic and professional career, I'm ready to dream big and dig deeper into
Data and Computer Science. Working in an IT company for over a year, I now wish to seek more
knowledge by studying and learning. I hope to specialize in data science and get an upper hand in
tools and technologies for the same.
Post-graduation, I want to work in a consolidated company where all my knowledge and skills
would be tested and utilized. I want to help develop innovative products. I would prefer a company
which shall appreciate my talent and uses it to train amateurs. 10 years down the line, I wish to
start a firm that would provide several software services to other companies and contribute to their
growth; ultimately growing mine. My company shall also offer a wide range of opportunities to
those who wish to learn and train them in all the domains necessary at that point.
Ever since I started looking for universities abroad, the XXXXXXXX in the USA has caught my
attention. The United States is known for its remarkable growth and major research in Computer
Science. XXXXXXXX fosters an environment that encompasses all aspects of individuals and aids
in fulfilling their maximum potential through their diverse perspectives. I am sure that at this
university I will join a wider learning society that will contribute to my studies and personal
development. The variety of topics offered by your foundation will help me develop a broader
perspective and reflect the positive change in me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my application. It would be a privilege to study and perform
research at the University.
