Present Continuous Dialogue

Diana is on vacation with her family in Cancún, Mexico. They are staying in a nice hotel near the beach. The weather is very hot and Diana describes her family members enjoying activities by the pool like swimming and volleyball. Her parents are relaxing by the pool drinking piña coladas. Diana tells Alex that her husband José is also enjoying the trip and reading a book next to her. She asks Alex to meet them at the airport next Sunday at 6pm upon their return.

 Hello Alex. This is Diana, how are you?


 Alex:
 Fine thanks. How is your vacation?
 Diana:
 Everything is great here. Cancún is a fantastic place. We are staying in a nice
hotel near the beach.
 Alex:
 What’s the weather like?
 Diana:
 It’s very hot. I am wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
 Alex:
 And how’s the family?
 Diana:
 They are having a wonderful time here. Jorge is swimming and Roberto is
playing volleyball in the pool. My daughter Marisa is taking photographs, you
know, she likes that very much!
 Alex:
 And what about your parents?
 Diana:
 They are resting by the pool and drinking piña colada!
 Alex:
 Is José enjoying the trip?
 Diana:
 Yes, very much. Right now he is reading a book next to me.
 Alex:
 That sounds cool! I would like to be there with you. What are you doing?
 Diana:
 I am sitting next to the pool, writing e-mails to some friends.
 Alex:
 Well, I think you are having a really happy time.
 Diana:
 Yeah, we are. Can you meet us at the airport next Sunday?
 Alex:
 Yes, sure. What time?
 Diana:
 At 6 o’clock.
 Alex:
 OK. See you next Sunday, then.
