TEAM CHARTER
Group Expectations
Our group goal for this project is to create a proposal that eloquently relays the steps in
repairing a broken boot heel. Using verbiage and pictures, we want to successfully
utilize the two to create effective visual rhetoric. We expect the best work from the two
of us in the group. We will make sure to focus on working through each step of this
assignment diligently and make sure we are communicating well between the two of us
and the iFixit team as well. We will help encourage ideas between members by being
supportive of each thought that is put out. No idea is a bad idea.
The tasks that need to be completed will be a collaborative effort between the two of us.
We have already completed the fast-start portion of this project. Moving along, we are
preparing for checkpoint one. We need to purchase our supplies and start taking
photos. The time offered during discussion section to take photos will help us move
along with this project smoothly. In the final stretch, we will complete our project at
checkpoint 2. Fine-tuning details will most likely require us to communicate a lot, either
through meeting up in person or via facetime. The two of us will split the task of adding
text and helping each other revise our work.
Group Procedures
The dates, times and locations of meetings will be primarilyn during discussion time at
Friday’s 12PM or during the evenings. The group will meet physically when compiling
the photos for the tutorial. We will have an opportunity in class to do that, but if we don’t
finish then we will set up the time and place to meet up outside of class physically
depending on our schedules. Our time together during discussion section on Fridays is
also a large part of where we will collaborate. Our main form of communication is
through iMessage. It is the quickest way to send and reply to messages for both of us. If
we need to go over the project in more depth and are unable to meet face-to-face we
will opt for facetime. The assets and drafts are all stored on our respective google doc
drives. One of us makes the document and then shares it with the other.
Personal Accountability
● What strengths do individuals have that might make them more suited to one
of the elements that needs to be produced more than others? How will you
break up the workload in an equitable way?
● What is each team member’s expected level of responsibility for attending
meetings, responding to communication from other group members, and
completing assigned tasks on time?
● How will the group handle a team member who does not comply with the
charter What are the consequences?
In terms of dividing the tasks, Donia has had prior experience working with handy tools.
She will definitely be more hands-on and most likely be the model in the tutorial. Cindy
will work more on writing and editing the written content needed for this project. We will
make sure that none of us feel like we are burdened by more workload, and this can be
kept in mind through communicating with each other. Each team member is completely
responsible for keeping track of the due dates for this project. Since it is just two people,
we only have each other to rely on, so timely responses and completing our individual
tasks on time are very important. If one teammate does not comply with the statements
made in the charter, the other member will be sure to communicate those feelings. If the
member who is slacking does not change their behavior, the professor and our TA will
be promptly notified.
